Collection: The Archive

Some specimens arrived already labelled. Others were placed without record and named only later, once their form had settled into something worth keeping. A few resist classification still.

The numbering follows the studies, though not always sequentially. Gaps are expected. Repetitions occur where they must. Certain entries appear out of place until others are found to sit beside them.

No attempt has been made to correct irregularities.

Variations are preserved as they occur. Surfaces are left as they formed. Where structure has shifted or settled, it has been allowed to do so without interference. Not all outcomes were anticipated.

The arrangement continues to change.

New specimens are introduced when they present themselves. Others are relocated as patterns begin to emerge, or as earlier groupings no longer hold. The system adapts as required.

No specimen has been altered to better fit its place.
