Collected during late season, once the leaf had begun to soften at the edges. Form remains intact; the characteristic fan shape is preserved, with a pronounced division at the centre.

Drying produces slight curling along the outer rim. The surface contracts unevenly, emphasising the fine radiating veins. Structure holds. No tearing observed.

Copper adheres first at the stem attachment, then progresses outward across the leaf. The veins guide its spread toward the outer edge. The underlying pattern dictates the final surface. No correction required.

Variation between specimens is minimal. Differences occur mainly in the depth of the central division and the degree of edge wear. The underlying form remains consistent.

The surface takes on a warmer tone than expected.

Margin note: Could swear it shifts when not observed directly. Likely a trick of the light.
