Collected as a mature seed pod. Form rounded, with a distinct crown at the top and a flared base. Surface initially smooth.
Drying produces contraction across the pod. Surface collapses inward, forming pronounced vertical ridges. Crown remains intact.
Copper adheres first at the attachment point, then progresses downward across the pod. Deposition gathers along the ridges, emphasising the segmented structure. Surface develops unevenly, with heavier build-up toward the lower half.
Variation between specimens present in size and definition of the crown. Underlying structure remains consistent.
