Captain Octopus

They say Captain Octopus was once the most cunning treasure-hunter the seas ever knew. No ship could outpace him, no chest stayed locked in his presence, and no pearl lay hidden for long. With eight nimble limbs and a mind sharper than a sailor’s dagger, he mapped the secret currents and the forgotten shipwrecks that even the old sea dogs had given up on.

But Captain Octopus grew tired of gold and glitter. The world above called too loudly — with its curious trinkets, its lost buttons, and its tangled necklaces dropped from careless hands on distant shores. So he left the deep and set up a trove in the quiet coves, gathering oddments and treasures from wreck and wave alike.

Now, they say, if you find something shiny washed ashore — a glimmering bauble tangled in seaweed, a pendant shaped by salt and time — it’s one of the Captain’s finds, slipped from his trove for landfolk to discover. A gift from the old treasure-hunter who still can’t resist the thrill of a new prize.
