Embers of the Garden

Once, there was a garden forgotten by all but the night.

Among broken statues and tangled thorns, fragments of beauty clung to the earth: a petal caught in a cobweb, a bud never given the chance to open.
It is said that if you linger long enough in the hush of that place, you might catch it — the ghost of a scent, the glint of a fallen bead among the ruins, a heartbeat that is not your own.
