They speak of a knight draped in dark steel, whose steed was no mere beast of flesh and bone, but a creature of flame and will — the ancient wyrm, Vaelrix.
No bridle ever touched his scaled neck, no bit ever caged his fangs. It was not dominance that bound him to the knight, but a pact older than oaths and heavier than armour. In the deepest crypt of a forgotten citadel, sealed in molten wax and blood, they struck their accord: the knight would ride, but Vaelrix would steer fate.
Legends say the knight wore a token close to his throat — three scales gifted freely by the dragon, gleaming with the iridescence of stormfire. Not trophies, but a contract made visible. A reminder that while others rode beasts into battle, he rode something far older and far more dangerous… something that allowed him on its back, not out of loyalty, but calculation.
Now, the pact is long dissolved — the knight dust, the dragon vanished into cloud and ash. But the scales endure. Three fragments of a bond between equals, forged in power, sealed in secrecy.
