I hover, heartless yet burning, pulled toward the copper petals that glow with a fire I cannot touch. Blue stones glint like shards of sky, and I reach, craving the brush of something real — but my fingers sink through nothing, through emptiness that tastes of memory and regret.
I remember warmth, the press of skin, the weight of hands that once held me. That life is a tremor in my bones now, a whisper that drags me closer, closer to the rose’s quiet hum, a pulse that mocks and seduces all at once. I ache through every shadow, a hunger threaded with grief and desire, and the air trembles where I pass.
Time coils around me, heavy and intoxicating. I linger in the sanctum, caught in the impossible: the rose waits, untouchable, yet I am intoxicated by its fragile bloom, tethered to a world I cannot enter, a world I ache to remember, ache to claim, even if only in trembling, unfulfilled longing.
