Recovered as a partial fragment. Structure suggests vertebral origin, though identification is uncertain due to damage. Central cavity present. Outer projections incomplete, with loss of symmetry across the form.
Structure holds. No further change observed. Fragment remains stable despite visible breakage.
Copper adheres first along the upper attachment, then progresses downward across the fragment. Deposition gathers unevenly, with heavier build-up across one side. Surface develops a pronounced blue patina, concentrated in recessed areas and along the lower edges.
Weight distribution shifts off-centre. Piece does not hang straight.
Variation between specimens present in degree of damage and symmetry. Underlying structure remains consistent.
Margin note: Pretty sure this had a backbone once.
